73rd Infantry, Regimental Color. The 73rd regiment, known as the "Pennsylvania Legion", was organized in August 1861. It was composed of men from Philadelphia and Lancaster counties. A piece of mourning crepe in honor of President Lincoln is still attached to the flag, suggesting that it was carried sometime in 1865. The regiment was mustered out of service on July 14, 1865.
